(Cu rr ently Amended): Electronic-switching component with gallium- arsenide-based ﬁeld-eﬀect transistors and a dedicated housing, said dedicated housing providing at least one transparent portion, the housing further comprising at least one retaining device accommodating at least one of one end of an optical waveguide and an LED-light source, and a housing compartment having internal light-reﬂecting walls, wherein the wavelength range of the LED-light source is in the infrared wavelength range, the retaining device being unitary with the housing, wherein the transparent portion of the housing comprises optical properties corresponding to those of a dispersive lens, and wherein the transparent portion is k adapted to illuminate a surface of a substrate containing the ﬁeld-eﬀect transistors via the dispersive lens a-swface-ef-a to generate electron-hole pairs to neutralize fer-neutr-ing charges trapped in surface imperfections of the gallium-arsenide based ﬁeld-eﬀect transistors to accelerate switching.
