Research paperTheoreticalComputed RamanFundamental Efficiency Limits of Transition-Metal Dichalcogenide Solar Cells with Carrier Multiplication and Hot-Carrier EffectsSeungwoo LeearXiv·2026·10.1063/1.2356314·arXiv:2605.00451AbstractDetailed-balance limits for transition-metal dichalcogenide solar cells are generalized to include thickness-dependent optics, carrier multiplication, hot-carrier extraction, and finite cooling leakage. The framework combines exciton-resolved monolayer absorbance, an experimental upper bound on carrier-multiplication yield, and an endoreversible hot-carrier engine with a finite heat-leak coefficient, showing that carrier multiplication and hot-carrier extraction draw on the same above-gap photon-energy reservoir.Read more
