Abstract

Using time-dependent Hartree-Fock, the paper computes collective-mode spectra of Wigner crystals and anomalous Hall crystals in two minimal continuum models (the infinite Chern band and λ-jellium), and evaluates the topology of phonons and low-lying excitons via their Chern numbers. It shows that band inversions across the Wigner-crystal to anomalous-Hall-crystal transition produce topological phonons and excitons, including a sharp sign change in the phonon Chern number. The work also examines the effect of a weak periodic potential on collective-mode topology and discusses implications for experiments on candidate anomalous Hall crystal systems.
